Tuesday, August 19: Person A

Let's start out with the guy who gave his impression of our editor, Steve Gleydura, in the September issue. (We purposefully didn't tell you who he actually was in that column.)

Press comments below and tell us (and the world) what you think about this guy. What does he do for a living? Is he nice? Does he have a family? Would you trust him? If you saw him in the street, would you say hello? Or avoid eye-contact? Cross the street? Tell us what you think his backstory is.

He is unmarried, hangs around with people youngerthan he is, works in a graphic design/bicycle repair/software developing sort of job where even business casual is not expected, I waould say Lakewood resident. No I have to say he is not my type and we would not seem to have much to talk about. I like people who are discovered layer by layer; he is screaming words on his clothes. Not subtle enough for me.

I agree; definitely unmarried. He's got a live-in girlfriend, though, but his mom doesn't like her. I don't think he works in a casual environment, though; these are his "off-duty" clothes, loud because he's making up for lost time at the office. He's confident, maybe even comes off cocky (at least to women), but that's because he was a nerd in high school and is "cool" now--that kind of fits with the younger crowd theory! He'd be entertaining to hang out with, but as far as meaningful dialogue...maybe we wouldn't be great friends.

Gotta be a bike messenger. Late 20s, lives in Lakewood. Obviously, likes to wear T-shirts with messages on them.

He listens to punk rock, but not the kind of punk rock that you've heard of. He only likes bands that 2,000 or so other people know. He has a girlfriend, and she's always threatening to leave him, but he'll be the one to leave her in another few months.

This kid (37) grew up on the near west side and was a nerd in high school until he realized he was athletic. He was more into Xtreme sports though and was a local celebrity at it. He has had a couple of failed serious relationships but never married. He is the owner of a bike messenger business and has a three year old daughter and biker girlfriend. He zips past me barely even noticing me even though I make eye contact with him.

I think he is into social activism. He looks like the kind of person who writes letters to congress about Sudan, likewise, to Cleveland about the Pit-bull ban. I bet he rides a bike to work and he takes night classes to get even better at whatever his day job is. I see.....an economist. Sees the world for all its sins and the money that breeds it.

He's married with a kid and kind of a douche bag, but a good dad. clinging desperately to his hair. He is an elitist and makes bad drinks at over rated bars. Listens to Arctic Monkeys and Steve Aoki. None of the real messengers accept him thus he is forced between west 6th and the garage.

He's wearing a bookbag, so that says something right there. He has sort of spiked hair, a bit of attitude (spunk). I don't think he would be a romantic, but maybe I am wrong there. His shirt says sinner, so he might be a bit sarcastic.
